Digital Soul Australia

About

Here to connect regional and remote Australia.

Digital Soul Australia exists for one outcome: connectivity for regional and remote Australia. We're a privately held, independent carrier that owns and operates the infrastructure that outcome stands on, in Western Australia, Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria.

Our purpose

Our purpose is to drive connectivity outcomes for regional and remote Australia: for the homes, businesses, agencies and carriers that the major networks reach last, if at all. Everything we do is measured against that outcome.

How we deliver it is deliberately practical: we construct new towers and finish the sites already underway, we acquire and reactivate networks that were built with real investment and community backing but aren't delivering, and we operate everything properly for the long term. We make better use of existing infrastructure rather than duplicating it, and we invest progressively where there is a clear technical, community and commercial case. Today that means 32 owned tower sites across four states, and growing.

And the mission keeps moving. Beyond finishing and reactivating what exists, we're actively pursuing new opportunities and collaborations with communities, with business, and with government at all levels, wherever better connectivity outcomes are waiting to be built. If that's your town, your operation or your program, we want to hear from you.

Leadership

Digital Soul Australia is led by Managing Director Richard Fear MAICD, a senior telecommunications engineer and executive with extensive experience designing, deploying and operating regional and remote telecommunications infrastructure across Australia.

Richard's career spans over 15 years in the Australian telecommunications industry, including 11 years at Optus progressing from Cadet Engineer to Chief Engineer and Project Director across mobile radio planning, network operations and strategic projects. He subsequently served as Head of RAN at Field Solutions Group and General Manager at Pivotel Group, before focusing full-time on building Digital Soul Australia as an owner-operator of regional wireless infrastructure.

Richard also holds non-executive director roles at Advanced Avionics Australia and Manticore Technologies.

What we stand for

Independent & Australian owned

Privately held, founded in WA, accountable to the communities we serve in every state we operate.

Community focused

Our sites sit in real places with real names. That's not branding. It's where our work lives.

Indigenous aware

We acknowledge Country, build with respect, and are committed to supporting Indigenous businesses and communities.

AI-native operations

Digital Soul Australia is building its business and network operations as AI-native from the ground up. We are developing AI-enabled capability across OSS/BSS automation, asset management, network planning and operational assurance.

Network planning

AI-assisted network planning to help prioritise capital investment and direct resources where they deliver the greatest practical outcome.

Asset intelligence

Tools to improve visibility of site condition and upgrade pathways across the portfolio.

Service automation

Automation to support service qualification, wholesale access, provisioning workflows and customer reporting.

Operational assurance

Fault triage and operational intelligence to reduce costs, improve service visibility and respond faster.

This operating model is designed to help us run leaner, plan more accurately and build a commercially sustainable regional telecommunications business.

Acknowledgement of Country

Digital Soul Australia acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Australia, on whose lands we build, operate and connect, including the Noongar, Yamaji and Wongi peoples of Western Australia, and the Traditional Custodians of the lands our network now reaches in Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria, and their continuing connection to land, sea and community. We pay our respects to Elders past and present, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
